Anyone ever ordered a gun to Bass Pro in Denham? Advertising a deal for 10% off (says guns are not excluded) if you buy on Monday thru Memorial Day and put on Bass Pro Card. In my experience, BPS usually isn't competitive on gun prices. 10% off for what I'm looking for will make worth it.

Live an hour away and can only go on weekends after it's delivered. Curious if it'll be a hassle having them hold it

I have purchased a few guns from BPS. Agree. They don't negotiate, but I bought a new gun last summer. They ran it on sale, had a gift card and the one camo pattern I wanted was the last one left, which was a display model. Gave me an extra 5% off. Gun was normally 2k and I walked out with it for $1600.

Usually BPS is considerably higher on everything, including their guns. Tell me which firearm you want and let's see what we can find online

Guns.com or Bud’s Guns are having Memorial Day sales. Can save a couple hundred dollars and get ammo.
I’ve bought a couple of firearms from BPS. They are always several hundred dollars more expensive.

Order it online and pay for it and they email you when it arrives or when it’s ready for pick up, no hassle at all.

If you are an hour east of bass pro, then just go to Puglia’s. Unless you are a serious shopper, they are the best place for guns.

Bergara B14 HMR 22-250

See places online that advertise for $950, but then add shipping and ffl and it's $1000

Bass Pro is $999-10% plus tax and that'll be $1000

Lots of the online places don't charge sales tax, and we are talking $100 here? Just get what you want.

I ordered a shotgun from Bass Pro online and had it shipped to Denham last spring. It was the worst gun buying experience of my life. I sat there for close to an hour waiting on them to do all of their checks after I had already been cleared. Never again. It took them almost 20 minutes to even find someone to get my gun from the back.

I find BPS fun/ammo prices to be in the same ballpark as other brick and mortar stores. Maybe slightly higher than Academy. I go to the one in Katy and it’s often slow simply bc it’s crowded.

Yes online prices are often cheaper but adding shipping and FFL lessens any savings. I’ve had good online experiences with: Guns.com, Buds, Omaha Outdoors, Midway, Vance Outdoors, Palmetto.

I've never ordered anything from BP, but I've bought a few in store. Their prices are always on the cheaper side of brick/mortar stores. Academy can sometimes be a little cheaper. Most local places (mom and pop) are normally more expensive and closer to MSRP.

Each gun I purchased at BP in Denham was also 5% off with my veterans discount, and they gave me 7-14 free range passes each time. ***I got 14 once because I also bought $200 worth of ammo at the same time.

BP has always been great in my experience.

My favorite gun store is Apocalypse Sports in Ponchatoula, though. They're a local mom and pop owned and ran by a Marine. They're prices are on par and often times lower than BP. They have a HUGE inventory and do big business, though, unlike many other mom and pops. I go to them first for most of my purchases.

If buying online from a dealer out of State, it's going to cost you an additional $100~$135 on top of the purchase price. Taxes ( approx. $75), FFL (around $25), transfer fee ($25), shipping from $0 to $75 depending on dealer. My advice, buy from a local dealer and shop price that way all you're going to pay is taxes. I've done this hundreds of times over the last 30+ years and it's no longer "cheaper" to buy a gun from out of state and have it transferred unless they offer free shipping. Once dealers started charging taxes for OOS purchases (i.e. Gunbroker) it changed the game. My advice, buy local and save the $$$. The dealer / gunshop may be generous offer you a discount on purchased ammo.

same experience at cabelas here in Allen, TX won a gun took like 30 minutes to do all the checks, then some manager had to come and ask me questions like where I was born mothers maiden name shite like that weird. Also I have never been flagged, our local shop takes 10 minutes to run the background.

link me some places please. I haven't seen a legitimate site in a while that doesn't charge state sales tax. Would be good to know for next time I am looking.

Exactly this. I really don’t know what everyone is talking about, claiming BPS is way more expensive. BPS is competitive with Academy, maybe slightly higher. Local shops are expensive. Online can be cheapest until you add shipping and FFL.

Been a few years since I moved from LA, but I've made the drive to Puglia's a few times. Always had what I was looking for in stock and were cheaper than any other place.

I've purchased from them before. They had a sale, a HTF model, discount for getting the card, and gave me some vouchers for their range.

It was hassle free and the price was right at the time, but usually they are on the high side. Besides normal pricing I don't have a complaint.
