That is why there are many people selling common house hold cleaning products on facebook everyday. You will see Dawn, Laundry detergent, all kinda crap in like a bundle sold for $25. It's just people buying shite with their SNAP card and then selling it for cash to suckers locally.

You can’t buy those things with SNAP, but feel free to pass on the misinformation. With a few limited exceptions, you can only purchase “unprepared food items” with food stamp cards.

FWIW - the people selling those items
are otherwise getting them for “free”
or at a discount, and it’s not always legit.

We used to buy all of “after work “ beer on the gas credit card in the 70’s.
With the old credit card machines you could manipulate the ticket. This is when it was acceptable to drink and drive a company vehicle. The Major Oil Companies bought our beer, we charged it to the job.

We had an employee we furnished with a gasoline card. Took us a while to catch him, but he would put $30 gas in other peoples vehicles on the card, and they pay him $15 cash.

This same thing has been going on in the hood for years. Can’t believe any of you don’t know the game. I knew a girl that had 7 kids and was getting $1800 or more a month in food stamps. No way was she using that much so she would use about half a month for her and her kids, then lend out the remaining 800 or 900 balance to someone for 4 or 500 cash.

Who wouldn’t take that deal if you actually have to buy your groceries. It’s even worse now under Biden.

I didn’t know any recycle centers paid for plastic bottles. This must be another government funded scam bc plastic doesn’t recycle easily and most of it ends up in the landfill.

Why not just sell it to someone in the neighborhood for 50 cents on the dollar? Seems like lots of work for 5 cents a bottle

Because it's not stamps, it's a debit card with your name on it

I have never not once ever seen a grocery store cashier ID an EBT user in front of me in line. It's not like trying to use a fake ID to get into a bar underage and the bouncer asks your Zodiac sign.

But you have to go through the line with the person-inconvenient-or give it to them-in which case you'll probably never see it again. To a junky in need of a fix, 5 cents on the dollar now is preferable to 50 cents on the dollar next week

I guess he just fricking lied to me then. My gullible arse believed him. It just sounded so realistic when he was telling me that’s how he was making money. I mean jeez - I guess he just made it up. What a hell of a made up story!

So thankful that we have a Walmart employee of the month in here that could clarify that myth!

I saw somewhere that they are buying bottle waters.. emptying the bottle waters and taking the empty bottles to the recycling place to get cash for them.

I’m sure Mr Walmart employee of the month guy will chime in and say that I am lying about that as well

Back in Georgia, I used a local store to get my fuel , ice and snacks before my guide trips everyday. They eventually stopped taking EBT. They had a sign in the window stating no more EBT.

I had gotten to know the chick in there and asked her why. She said that people were coming in with a EBT card, worked out a deal with the cashier (who got fired) where they would charge $100 on the card for $25 in cash. The cashier would then screw the register for the $75 and pocket it.

Cost them thousands and thousands. If there is a system, people will find a way to take advantage of it

That’s what families are doing on the MARTA in Atlanta. They load up on water and candy, then have the kids walk through the trains selling it at a 300% premium.

Seems like the same thing as the kids selling candy at events

With a value on the plastic bottle it keeps it off the streets so the state doesn’t look like……well, Louisiana.

Why are food stamps available to drug addicts who somehow manage to fund their addiction which can cost over 100 dollars a day?

Because we have an entire profession dedicated to guiding people on how to get government benefits from cradle to grave. They're called social workers.

If you combine that with a good 25-50% off sale you can eat pretty good on a budget.

Just getting your money back from the government anyway

They buy meat or seafood here, sell online for pennies on the dollar.
