Damn…kinda jelly this happened to Iran and not the USA.

This would be the equivalent of Kamala Harris dying in a fiery helicopter crash.

Good for the 24 hour news cycle but meaningless in the big scheme of things.

The ayatollah is the one who calls the shots in Iran.

Seeing reports on twiiter that they have stopped broadcasting normal programming for an announcement coming soon. Also seeing videos of military vehicles surrounding govt buildings in Tehran.

It’s been over 8 hours and they still have no more information than when it went down. I know it’s rough terrain and horrible weather but still insane they have nothing to report

16 flights a year and I hate it more every time.
Part of my daily checklist is item #67

“Do not ride in a helicopter”

Today my record is doing this on 22,893 consecutive days without ever failing.

I’ll consider using a medical evacuation copter if there is an emergency event.

This is the same thing they said about GWB and it's a really stupid take. Nobody is calling the shots for any president.

You'd think if they had an idea of the location they could scan with some FLIR equipment. They must have no idea.

It was already foggy then it got dark a few hours later in bad terrain.

But you have to imagine they had several communication devices including a sat phone. So no news is not good for the evil executioner. But good news for those inside Iran who lost family from his power.

I think they might know and are slow playing it to prepare for some rallies of joy.

Yes, the Supreme Towel Head does.

The Israelis wouldn't have to shoot it down if they were dumb enough to fly a helichopper in fog like that. All they had to do was......wait.

Mess with their IFR technology mid flight when they enter fog and it becomes very tricky.

And Iran will blame Israel and U.S. of course.

Absolutely, and ironically, the hellicopter was (now in pieces) a U.S. made Bell 212 helicopter.

Exactly. The regime will have some conspiracy theories circulated and may even try to blame Mossad and IDF officially but the assassin was clearly the legendary Eli Copter, and it won’t pick up any traction outside of very low information Iranian circles.

Multiple reports that drones have located the crash site and "it doesn't look good" (coming from an anonymous Iranian Govt official) but it is the middle of the night over there and it crashed deep in the mountains and it's snowing. If this happened in a remote part of Montana or Idaho or Wyoming it could take days for people to reach the crash site.
