And Bama, Fla, and Vandy all won two of three versus LSU. I thought the sweep this weekend would have been enough, but looking at it this morning, I think LSU needs Tuesday. The other four 13-17 teams play each other, so two will take losses. Lose Tuesday and I think it’s a coin flip as to whether LSU makes it.

Head to head kind of gets thrown out the window with 5 SEC teams at 13-17, which is good for LSU. It comes down to how are you playing now. LSU is 14-5 in their last 19, 4/5 series wins with a series win over the #1 team.

South Carolina has lost 6 in a row while getting swept twice. Vanderbilt has lost 4 series in a row. Florida is 28-26 and 1-6 in their last 7 SEC series. Certainly 9 SEC teams are getting in and you can easily make the case that LSU is in the top 9. Or if you include those team then you have to include LSU.

You can make the case Alabama and LSU are the most attractive 13-17 SEC teams and Alabama just lost a series to the worst team in the SEC.

Well Florida and Vanderbilt were early on in the year. LSU has been playing better recently. They will take that into consideration. I just don’t see the defending champs being left out with the way they finished. I think you people are worrying yourselves way too much.

so basically you are saying that getting hot on the home stretch going 10-5 in conference play the second half of the season doesn't matter...even if other teams shite the bed the second half of the season? You could be right, as no one here knows, but if picking the best teams at this point and time is the goal, then I know LSU is playing like a team that is definitely top 30 in the country, if not top 25.

I really don’t know what they consider for bubble teams.

They want lsu in the tournament. If they are anywhere near the bubble they are in. Simple

You look at the whole body of work. They are not going to sit there thinking of just SEC teams. FL has lot way too many games

Aaron Fitt of D1 has an article this morning opining on the impact of the weekend's games, but it's behind a paywall.

This is the same song and dance every single year. Just sometimes it's talking about what we need to be a top 8, what we need to host, or this year what we need to make the tournament.

The rant will come together and say, "Sweep Ole Miss and then we are in."

Then after it happens there will be a group that breaks off and says. "No actually we need to win one more to be in." That group will melt if we lose and say the season is over.

Win Tuesday and there will be another group that says, "We need to win one more to be in." Lose and they melt.

It's this exact same thing every single year. Just the main topic changes.

There are 28 teams ahead of LSU including 10 conference leaders. Add in 20 more auto bids and that gets you to 48. Even if you think LSU would only be the 11th SEC team (I don’t), you have to come up with 16 teams behind LSU to put in the field. Who do you think those 16 are?

2 wins in SEC tournament is probably enough to earn a spot.

This may be a year where the fact we travel so we’ll pays dividends.

Florida is 28-26 thought and got swept by Missouri.

They have a good RPI but a sub 30 win team with a bad conference record isn’t ideal.
