There is no denying Griff wasted the assets he was given. There is also no denying he came close to balancing the scales by pulling Herb and Trey with lesser assets. We can’t just say Griff screwed #4 without also acknowledging he outkicked the coverage with #35 and #17.

Finding Herb Jones in the second round is the single best thing Griff has done in his tenure here, and has no doubt saved his job to date.

Drafting Trey at 17 is probably second and was a great pick, but even that one he traded down when Sengun could have been drafted.

If griff ends up getting fired, his inability to find a big will be reason 1 and his inability to find a point guard will be reason 2.

In all honesty though, Hollinger is far from anything reliable.

If The Grizz fire Taylor Jenkins, we better hire him immediately.

Have they even formally announced Green’s extension? I’m super pissed about this under the radar crap. I think it is very telling.

Jenkins on there is wild to me.

Seriously. His entire team was hurt this past year. If he gets fired, he should be on the next plane to New Orleans

AD trade:

#4 - completely wasted, and I don't blame anyone for NAW. He needed a change of scenery to realize he's not his cousin.
Hart - basically salary filler to get CJ.
Lonzo - stupidly given to a desperate Bulls team with no cap space for nothing. Don't tell me Sato and Temple are anything.
'22 1st round pick - had to give it away
#8 - Dyson - He still has good value i think
'23 pick swap - not conveyed
'25 1st - we shall see
BI - we shall see what we get back.

Jrue trade:
Eric Bledsoe/Steven Adams - had to give up George Hill, Kenny Hustle, a early '23 second from Washington (#37), an early '24 second from Charlotte (#34), and a '20 first (#24) to get Adams, then had to move down from 10 to 17 as well as give up '22 Lakers 1st to get rid of both of them a year later, although we did acquire JV in that trade and drafted well. Looks like we will lose JV for nothign though, and our coach refused to use him effectively for most of his time here.

We also recieved the Bucks '25 first and '27 first, and a pick swap in '24 which allowed us to move up 2 spots this year, and in '26.
We no longer have that Bucks '25 1st.

So what do we have to show for the AD/Jrue trades today:
Dyson
'25 Lakers 1st
BI trade return
Bucks '27 1st
Bucks '26 pick swap

We got back 7 1st round picks in those two trades, and actually gave up 1, as well as 2 very early 2nds. Still have 2 1sts left, and only have Dyson to show for the other 5.
And there is nothing positive you can say about the Lonzo and Devonte Graham S&T situation. That cost us 2 firsts and 4 seconds with Griff's stupidity.

He's a terrible GM, always has been, and will contine to be. What he's done here the last 5 years should be an example of how not to be a good GM.

He does a great job finding hidden gems, which is necessary since he screws up so many other things

How many hot seat coaches ever get off the hot seat without being fired or resigning? Rephrased, how many hot seat coaches ever turn it around?

He's just such a pussy. He refused to pick a direction from the start. He tried to rebuild and compete at the same time when we would have been better off going all in on either rebuilding or competing. He hordes all these assets for years and lets them slowly bleed away instead for trading for one of the numerous stars that have been moved over the past 5 years.

I wanted him to rebuild from the start. Should have traded Jrue right after AD, try and tanked Zion's rookie year. Why the frick was he panicking and trading real assets for Steven Adams and Devonte Graham?

If he wouldn't have hit on Trey and Herb he would've been fired 2 years ago.

100%.
We dont' make the playoffs that year without those two rookies, hell Jose too.

You can say good scouting all you want, finding a legit starter like Herb in the 2nd round is extremely lucky.

Picking Trey was smart. There's still luck with him turning into who he is, but at least the age, size and skill set were a smart choice to draft at 17, unlike the Jaxson and Kira picks
