I think that is your inferiority complex showing. I think Gates is a self-effacing man. He knows that luck and timing had a lot to do with catapulting him into such wealth. And about 20 years ago he decided to dedicate himself to solving mankind's most damaging problems.
He gets unfairly savaged by people who want to assign evil motives to everyone with whom they disagree.
