Oh wow, go from being the leading man in two hit movies to a TV show a decade later. Interesting career choice.

Are you sure about that? That movie absolutely bombed.

The film was released September 15, 1995. It opened in 1,812 theaters and earned $3.2 million in its opening weekend, finishing in 4th place.[27] The film ended its run with a domestic box office gross of $7.5 million.

Hackers was a bomb and Trainspotting was a popular indie movie that was financially irrelevant, and wasn't seen by many people until it was found much later on DVD.

He has worked steadily. And yeah, taking the most financially stable and lucrative gig you can with a CBS show is a pretty smart move for an actor whose "next big thing" status never worked out.
