Whoa whoa whoa.

You mean a team that lost the tip 2 starters, top reliever and 6 of 8 positional starters wasn’t BETTER than the national championship season?

Well frick me. The coach must be awful.

ETA: This is also false. Just looking at the major stats, team ERA is lower than 2023’s. Thats also not taking into account the absolute tear the pitching staff went on last season starting in late May.

To be fair, I don't think anyone is saying that.

Saying Jay is awful is only a little more ridiculous than saying right now that this is his best coaching job ever or one of the best LSU baseball coaching jobs ever. Now, should we make an Ole Miss-like run to the CWS... then yeah, it'll go down as his best coaching job.
