I spent decades being “ gaslit “. Call it want you want, it’s a tactic. Narcissists specialize in it. If you don’t recognize it, it can destroy you. I can spot it now, have recently, and I run with a quickness.

All these psychological phrases get overused, which causes a reaction to make fun of the phrase and the concept by the cool OT kids. And then their gf or husband begins to gaslight them for real and they get it. Everything is overused until it’s your reality.

I didn’t know what passive aggression was for 30 years. Somebody tells me know “ hey Pimp you are being passive aggressive “ I understand it and think, damn you are right. So knowing these terms is a bonus .And we all do this primitive shite .

It's the character of the folks who overuse these terms which make them not cool.

At what point does persuasion turn to manipulation? I'd say when one party starts to disagree and needs to weaponize a meaningless word as a defense against logic and reasoning.
