As someone with an intimate knowledge of how hotels normally handle these events, I will tell you that hotel security offices will not review a tape unless the aggrieved party (normally a guest) brings a charge against another guest or the hotel itself. But, if Diddy requested the tape, then they most surely reviewed the tape. Once they see a crime on the tape, they are legally obliged to report it. Their actions could constitute their effort to cover-up a crime. In most large hotels, there is one guy in the security office, and one or two guys patrolling or answering noise complaints. My guess is that the $50K went to one guy, and he never told anybody else about the deal.

My family owns a hotel (not Indian) and my cousin runs it. I asked her and she basically said what you said.

Yet somehow the video is still out there. That opens up a lot of holes in the "hotel sold the tape to Diddy" accusation.
