re: Per Zach Lowe: Pelicans added to teams that will pursue D Mitchell if no extension

I still like Mitchell, I just think it will cost us BI and Herb and some firsts, maybe more
SFPs evaluation is off. Not as off as Jarrett Allen may only fetch a 2nd, but nonetheless, it's off.

Not to beat a dead horse but it pisses me off to see someone like Mitchell averaging over 9 threes a game when we can’t get BI to even take 4.

That’s why you trade for them..

No need to
Ingram and Herb with 5 picks for Mitchell and Allen would beat any other offer anybody could put out there.
You obviously only do it if he agrees to the extension before the trade though, or at least says he would definitely be willing to re-sign

Doubt he'd go for a superstar type of package without agreeing that an extension with his new team.

BI+Herb is not an overpay for a top 15 player.
He wants a big city. He is not going to extend with the Pels. Some are dreaming.

That's what they have to find out dipshit. You're fricking dense as hell.

If Cleveland is trading him it's because he wouldn't sign an extension with them. Why would he sign an extension with the Pels if he wouldn't with the Cavs?
No extension = Low offer from Griff. Most of the competitors appear to be markets he would stay in long term, so they can go further than the Pels if Mitchell doesn't agree to an extension, which I don't think he would if he's actually being traded.

He’s not agreeing to sign an extension without ever playing here lol. Not this market. Maybe he’ll do that at a premier city.
Like I keep saying, the time to trade for him was two years ago. Griff is an idiot if he sends out real value with out an extension signed for him.

Nobody knows other than the rumors that are floating around. That's why teams will need to find out what he wants and his value will be directly proportional to the cost. And that will play a large role in how teams approach the risks of pursuing him or not.
Posted on 5/17/24 at 6:34 pm to Townedrunkard
Again, whether he agrees to an extension or not isn't even my argument. The price Cleveland can demand is what I'm focusing on and his willingness to accept an extension for whatever teams trades for him will be the deciding factor on how much Clevand can extort for him.

You are the dipshit (as usual). You are freaking clueless if you think Mitchell will leave Cleveland to sign an extension in NOLA.
We get it you and supe12staz don’t agree. No need to call other posters names and clog up the thread. Always trying to get the last word as usual. Tsk tsk.

The lack of suitors is why I said days (weeks?) ago why he could be acquired for a reduced price
*ETA: this means huge risk of him not re-signing

Yeah it’ll have to be BI, Herb and 3 picks
Maybe it can be a little less since he has 1 year left in his contract but idk
That offer would have to have something else back from the cavs. Probably allen. Pels would then likely have to add.

Then sign me up... but there's zero chance that happens
Well then you don't do it.
Any team is going to want that.
The pels aren't going to be his pick.
He either stays in Cleveland or goes to miami imo.

Never. It’s quite amusing. I had 3 upvotes and 130+ downvotes saying we should do whatever to get Mitch. And now everyone wants him.
People on here also shite on trading for dame or kyrie.
