Last week the ball went right up the third base line. Kling wouldn't have made it.
Today, it would have been a very close play at the plate with Pearson. Likely out. You also had 1-2-3 in the order up and don't want to run yourself out of an inning.

The 2nd went up 3rd base. The first one went toward first base dugout
