Sorry I’m not following this. The Bible specifically condems rape and pedophilia. Maybe I’m misunderstanding your point.

So in your opinion the lack of morality in America is due to people being taught they will be forgiven for thier sins if they are Christians?
Religion likes to shut down debate.

You are correct in saying many people use religion to take advantage of people. But that’s like blaming a band that wrote a song because a cover band played it horribly. The message of the NT is love, man.

One of the 10 C's is that you should not worship any other God. That cuts out the target audience of 90% of the kids reading it. Is that even a "moral" to teach kids? That they will go to Hell if they don't follow that religion?

It was to allow people the freedom to choose their religion with no consequences.
And people are still more free than ever to discuss and debate these things and many people continue to choose immorality.

How was Christianity designed to take advantage of people? In what ways we’re the founders of Christianity taking advantage of people?

It’s appears this has happened to you lol.
I’m jk but I just don’t follow your thought of Christianity being the reason for this current morally corrupted world we live in.

Basically, spread the word and donate as much as you can. And don't kill, that's bad too.

Yeah those guys really lived great lives after Jesus died.

quote:Did you go to Church ever? Notice how Paul's letters to the Corinthians are read just about every Sunday? Paul was the founder of the modern Christian Church. He couldn't write about Jesus like the other doofuses because he never met the guy. But he saw a huge following, made up a story about Jesus appearing to him, then immediately set up collections. His letters are basically telling followers to fall in line and donate everything they could. It is why his letters are central teachings of the Church.

Did you go to a Catholic School? Do you realize how much donating money is indoctrinated from 1st grade in those schools?

He spent his life traveling around setting up churches then died in a prison for spreading Christianity. Not a life of luxury lol.

I did not. It’s does seem like your particular church or school effected your outlook on religion and your general worldview.

Exclusively?

You don't need religion to tell you not to kill people or steal
Well, it’s really easy to say that- after thousands of years of Judeo-Christian values shaping the world.

Every human being knows its wrong
Of course. There is an objective standard of morality. Where do you think it comes from?
quote:
Making people fear "god" does nothing b/c "god" isn't going to do shite when someone breaks one of his commandments.
You sure about that? That’s like saying “I have a credit card. I can spend as much money as I want.” But, when that bill comes… oof.
quote:
the problem we have is there are little to no consequences for breaking the law these days. Our judicial system is being manipulated by piece of shite lawyers, and our law enforcement doesn't enforce the laws with the prooper consequences
I absolutely agree. 100%. My whole point is that this is in direct violation of the objective standard of morality- and we are living the consequences in real time.

I’ve read that he came from a wealthy family but nothing that shows he used the religion to take advantage. Just the opposite. He was stoned flogged and imprisoned due to Christianity

Since "under God" was added to the pledge and "In God we trust" added to our currency in the 1950's one can argue that moral standards have gone straight downhill.
Won’t attempt to argue with that. As you pointed out, “our moral standards have gone straight downhill.” I agree. It was happening before the aforementioned. I only argue that it is a departure from the objective standard of morality.
quote:
It is probably the fault of religious nut jobs who want to ignore the parts of the Constitution they don't like that we have the internal fractures we have today.
In part- no doubt. You’ll get no defense from me in regards to those who pervert the gospel of Jesus Christ for their own selfish ambitions. I only argue that these fractures are the inevitable result of created beings, with free will, knowingly refusing to adhere to the objective standard of morality.
quote:
Our country was founded by people who EXPLICITLY wanted to keep religion out of government.
No. They weren’t trying to keep religion out of government- that’s impossible. They were trying to keep government out of religion. Big difference.
