I picture a couple of guys backstage, one says "shhhaaatt" whips out his wallet and hands the other guy a 20 when he says "now say thank you" or "wait for the applause". Because they intentionally put it in there to see if he would read it.
I did see a guy briefly offstage when he was walking off a couple of weeks ago, he turned around to walk back to the podium to answer a question and the guy, threw up his hands and said "aw shaat" and you could see he was telling some others off camera that he was heading back to answer questions.
