Settling the date of incorporation should handle both.
If the incorporation date is the date of the vote, it invalidates the incorporation of those areas into BR and sets the date of taxes owed.
Each of these 3 things will likely require a lawsuit.
1. Date of incorporation
2. Annexation nullity
3. Amounts owed (this may take 2 or 3)

Do you have any comparisons for other cities that come to mind when looking at the future of EBR?
Look at St. Louis. That's where Baton Rouge is headed.
St. Louis County did the same thing with subdividing a lot of its unincorporated areas and the results are what St. Louis is, right now.

have read that approximately 65% of the tax base for EBR is gone now. The roads and infrastructure are already in terrible condition.
St. George is still part of EBR, we are not part of the city of baton rouge, nor were we ever.

The request to rehear isn't contesting the incorporation, it's asking for a date of incorporation and the exact boundaries. The C-P and the Power Brokers funding the lawsuit want the date of incorporation declared as the LASC decision date. Otherwise, if the date of incorporation is the date the election was certified (October 2019), then the C-P potentially owes SG $250M in sales tax revenue, and the Power Brokers who annexed their properties into BR after that certification date (Lipsey, Charles Landry and John Enquist) will have their annexations declared null and void. St. George is a go

1. you are a talking point reciting idiot.
2 St. George is in EBR.
3. BR the city was stealing money from the St. G area.
4. You are still an idiot because you can't understand or refuse to accept 2 and 3.

I can't imagine the dark money flowing towards the LA Supreme Court to get ONE justice to change their vote. It was 4-3.
That's what I believe and it wouldn't surprise me if MOP had dirt on one of the four majority justices.

The St. George founders are out modern day Founding Fathers. This city will be a new bastion of freedom, of Republican and libertarian ideals.

The corruption runs so deep it’s only a matter of time (if not from the start) before they control St. George too.
It may be moderately better than it is now but it’s crazy to me what people settle for.

Who is "they?"
Not saying whoever runs St. George will be perfect (of course they won't) but if they make a decision you disagree with, it won't be because they are controlled by some shadowy illuminati.

“They” have influence, access to power, but they don’t all act as one.
“We” can do a better job of organizing, and participating in the process in order to carry forward a conservative agenda.
The first thing we need is better leadership. “We” can win. Just look at St. George as an example.

See there you go stating facts and telling the truth.
We just need more BR proud commercials, guvmemt grants, midnight basketball and ole BR will be just fine.

In a way this is very true.
These guys have risked and continue to risk their lives and livelihoods.

The political thieves in Louisiana are very upfront about behavior. Anyone who thinks this one thing is going to be free from Louisiana political corruption is being very very short sighted

If they don’t live in SBR they probably won’t see much difference.
1) Schools already suck so shouldn’t see any change there
2) it will definitely affect the Baton Rouge police departments budget but if they live in SBR they shouldn’t see much difference. That was one of the main reasons St. George was created.

That is an option for BR. Offer better police, fire, and other incentives for people to move back & fix up houses. Then, a bigger tax base will come, etc. Put some taxes on the 70805 industry. Reinvest.
I don’t see BR doing that, however. More whine, complain, & poor services for those who live in BR. For St. George, hopefully a better and renewed optimism & result.
The path is there for both cities.
