Would you think it’s odd if the ones in this thread with the strongest feelings about these movies do not have any kids?

Seems to happen a lot on here

Seems like a pretty logical choice to make a sequel given how teenagers go through a lot of changes that the "emotions" from part 1 would need to adapt to all the new feels.

This.

Even walking out of the theater after watching Inside Out the first time, my wife and I were talking about how it sets itself up well for more movies because of that reason.

I’m actually surprised it took them this long to produce it.

I think all 3 of those options are perfectly fine. Kids do too. All 3 are appropriate(I’m assuming Blues Clues is, I didn’t even know that was still on honestly).

My kids love Bluey because the dad does funny things, not because of any story that I enjoy.

Well Blue’s Clues certainly isn’t, and I think you’ll agree with me here:

Don't get me wrong, Looney Tunes is the gold standard for me when it comes to cartoons.

But if those shorts that were made in the 1940's where Bugs is cross-dressing were made today, you and the rest of the usual M/TV skyscreamers would be clutching soooo many pearls about how woke that is.

No because that’s the fricking joke. Elmer is falling for this obvious bullshite and that’s what makes it funny. Bugs is not actually transgendered or actually saying he’s a woman and lecturing us about it. He’s humiliating Elmer, which is what is funny. So no, completely different.

It's really not that different, considering that the argument the pearl clutchers have made nowadays is "I don't want my precious child exposed to LGBT stuff." Whether it's a joke or not, you and the others would still complain if that stuff was happening today.

But B+ attempt on trying to rationalize the difference.

That’s not LGBT. That is Bugs yanking Elmer’s chain. It is not at all equivalent to what is happening today.

It's still a dude in drag kissing another dude on a big screen meant for children. If you really think the far right wouldn't have a problem with that in 2024, I have some awesome beach front property in Kentucky to show you.

I'm downgrading your B+ to a C+ for doubling down.

Let me explain the joke to you since you clearly don’t understand it. The adults and the kids understand that Bugs is male. Bugs is being silly being a clear male dressing like a female. Elmer Fudd is stupid. Elmer will buy anything with a wig in it being a woman. Bugs is in drag to humiliate Elmer, and when Elmer falls for it and finds out, he gets pissed off and we all laugh that he fell for it.

The crossdressers largely but not exclusively in today’s kids cartoons demand to be seen and treated as actual women. It’s not a joke either. It presents to kids that these are who these people truly are, and if you don’t acknowledge them, then you are the bad guy and evil.

Happy to help out explaining jokes to idiots.

Big guy, I get the joke.

I'm say you and the "everything is woke" skyscreamers wouldn't see it, because you'd be too busy watching youtube videos from nerds saying hollywood is failing because Bugs Bunny wears a dress and kisses a dude in the next short, without knowing any context.

Hell it happened when the New Looney Tunes shorts came out on Max a couple of years ago. There was a thread on here about people losing their damn minds because Elmer had a scyth instead of a gun. Everyone thought it was some woke movement to take guns out, when the short in question had Elmer as a farmer or some shite. And then in the next short Elmer was in, he was back to being a hunter. So everyone crying woke for so no reason.

The fact that I had to spell that out for you, I'm pushing the C+ to an F.

You failed... again.

If you think it’s LGBT related, then you don’t get the joke.

Because the morons who wrote the show thought getting shot with a gun was more violent than getting beheaded with a scythe. We’re ridiculing these people because they’re insanely stupid.

How do you not get it?

Nope, that was all conjecture by the youtube nerds who thought Looney Tunes was getting attacked. Turns out, just like in some shorts in the 40's and 50's, Elmer can be something other than a hunter every now and then.

Stop being obtuse.
