Do detectives usually wear body cams?
That’s a good question. Sometimes.
But LMPD with Mayor Greenberg just changed policies last year on cameras that is in violation of Kentucky Open Records laws so they pretty much do as they please.
C-J Article on LMPD new cam policies

Is anyone else getting suspicious that “attached to the vehicle” is just a cover-your-arse way for the cop to say, “grabbed the driver door handle”?
I’m suspecting when the body cam footage finally comes out, we’ll eventually see an overweight fricktard grab the driver side door of a slowly moving vehicle, trip over his own feet in the process, get up in a huff, and sprint over to the now parked car to take his embarrassment out on the driver
Jumping on the car just makes no sense, and “attaching to the vehicle” would be such a weird way to describe that

“Attached to the vehicle” is just such a hilarious description. Car parts are attached to a vehicle. A human can be grabbing/hanging onto a vehicle, caught or stuck to a part of a vehicle, or riding on top of or on a vehicle.
The cop chose to grab or jump on the vehicle which is hilarious and so dumb and dangerous for himself and Scottie for a lot of reasons

Yea, seems like quite the overreaction. But man, not stopping with the dude hanging on the car for 15 yards, at the very least that's just not the smartest move lol.
Basically, everyone fricked up here and went overboard if it went down like Darlington said.

So it was ok to drive off if it was just a civilian attached to his car?
If a civilian randomly attaches themselves to my car I'm gonna assume they are a crazy person meaning me nothing good and keep driving
Throw in Scheffler's semi celebrity status and it makes that an even bigger factor

Do you have a link or video of this?

You shouldn't ever assume the police report is factual.
Really hoping we get video of this from body cam or a random security footage being leaked.

As a law enforcement supervisor, I can almost tell you exactly what kind of cop this.
My question is: what the hell were the supervisors doing??? This dumbass didn't make this arrest in a vacuum. As soon as they found out whom they had just arrested, there were phone calls flying up and down that chain of command. And if I'm the Chief of Police, if my phone wasn't ringing 3.7 seconds after the handcuffs went on, I'm relieving every supervisor all the way up to my second in command.

That's another thing that makes this smell drama queeny. No one attaches themselves to a car. They can grab on to one or jump on to one but they are not attached unless the city of Louisville is training octopusses or squid in the career of law enforcement no one is attaching themselves to anything.
I'm pretty confident this goes against almost all officer training too, it's a very easy way to get killed

Darlington was just on ESPN and said the officer grabbed the vehicle. Didn’t say anything about being dragged the entire distance (or any distance for that matter)
I believe the cop is the one who first used the phrase “attached to the vehicle”. Everyone else has just been blindly repeating it since

It is truly shocking they didn't immediately take him out of the cop car and let him go. Even if Scheffler is at fault is this shite show media storm worth it??

Again, not saying it wasn't a dumb move by the cop, it was. But also again, it's also dumb for Scheffler to do that. Everyone was dumb here.

I saw a tweet that said “LIV has helicopters on site to prevent this”
