i'm going out on a limb here and saying Paul Blart ripped his pants when he tried to Bo Duke through the driver's window to get to Scottie.

All race, all the time. Sad.

Obviously I've been fully team Scheff in this thread
But I am a little surprised at how universal the condemnation of Louisville PD is from nearly all corners of the internet
I think people just hate Louisville, which makes sense considering the population is basically like you dropped Trenton NJ into Kentucky

There also clearly needs to be better communication and chain of command in this department to prevent Scottie from ending up with a mug shot in an orange suit from one officer having a grumpy morning either way
This is what's laughable. Or even beyond the back of the squad car. Don't they get his ID and run it before pulling him in?
If he did have a vehicle marked for the "PGA EVENT" or what have you, and they still took him in then the amount of people involved in this to not know the Optics of arrest the #1 in the event of the week for the town is laughable.
Someone should have stepped up and approached a supervisor before his mugshot was taken.

I'm not on team Scheff. I think he probably ignorantly escalated the situation himself beyond what should have been done. As someone said, a traffic violation is fine here.
But to cuff him and take mugshots? Ridiculous.

Honestly I think even a traffic violation is a reach considering the account of the reporter documenting it all and the claim that another, perhaps more identifiable cop was waving him through.
But yeah, it's obviously the PD thought the options were a) immediately course correct and risk looking like there are two sets of rules, probably based on the flawed account of some aggrieved officer, and b) double down, send the non-injured cop to the ER as cover and overcharge the #1 golfer in the world with felonies, and just hope everyone ignores that he's by most accounts really nice, law abiding and boring.
LPD took option "b", so let's see how it works out for them.

The fact that they put him in a jumpsuit and took a mugshot tells me they knew exactly what they were doing and wanted to make a statement that nobody is above the law. Why the jumpsuit? They knew he wouldn’t be staying overnight. So in my mind they deserve all the blowback that comes.

PGA should threaten to not return imo.

Orange jumpsuit makes it infinitely worse imo. Zero critical thinking going on in the police station this morning.

we can only hope that the requirement for having a lobotomy prior to being hired as a cop is removed one day

It's a good thing that this quite literally did not happen. I suspect you already know this, though, it just doesn't fit your narrative. I know that is inconvenient, but it is what it is.
