Very interesting. The audio played this morning on pga SiriusXm clearly sounded like a black guy yelling “this guy is going to jail”. He sounded like the one making the arrest.
If you watch the video there are several cops at the scene. Darlington was following them as they escorted Scheffler to the police car. The cop you hear on the audio is just the one that stopped Darlington and told him he needed to back off.

Are all police officers taught to wrestle cars to a stop at the academy?

If George Floyd was proof cops are racist this should be equal proof that they aren’t.
Rich, white, athlete celebrity gets railroaded by a dumb cop and charges are exaggerated. Did he forget to show his white privilege card?
If this happens to a black person it’s racist. If it happens to a white person it’s just incompetence.

I hope Scheffler sues everyone into oblivion. But he won’t.
He has apparently already retained the services of a local lawyer who has won multiple cases against the Louisville Police. They will be paying him for this stupidity and also costing the city untold millions of dollars in revenue from not hosting future PGA events.

I would put the odds of him suing at 1%, would be a bad look for a supremely wealthy individual who (likely) has the charges dropped to then sue the city for millions.
They likely asked if he wanted a lawyer and he said "yes".

Exactly. The BLM movement really destroyed the ability to truly focus on militarization of police and needed police reform (which was growing thanks to sane voices like Rand Paul and others) … but BLM focused on only racial aspects and then held up horrible true criminals as martyrs and victims, got innocent LEOs killed and forced it into a left/right issue of insanity.
Instead of “let’s focus on demilitarizing police and forcing stricter standards, getting rid of bad apples” it became “all cops or bad defund the police” and not agreeing to completely defunding made you a boot licker/far right conservative on the topic.
Even this topic devolved into the politics of it, the topic of bad LEOs being bad shouldn’t be a political issue at all and should be one spot that should unite

I can’t imagine the mental gymnastics he had to go through to prepare for a PGA Championship round right after being thrown in jail.

Damn. Straight to the orange suit. He wasn't in there very long. That second degree felony assault on a cop charge is going to be a fun one for him. I don't always side with the cops, as in this situation, but the prosecution is going to run all day long with the alleged dragging the cop along side his car for an additional 10+ yards. I feel bad for the guy.
Scheffler really does not seem the type to purposefully do this in the least. The attorney that was retained is apparently pretty good. I'm willing to bet the charges will be dropped citing a complete misunderstanding with a hefty apology when someone get's in the judge's ear if the PGA threatens to never return.

He's too good of a guy and too chill. Assuming charges are dropped, he'll just let it go.

Scottie won't sue if they drop the charges. Just not his style IMO.

Successful people have the ability to focus through distractions, even very significant ones.
They don't lose their cool very often.
Weak, soft people come unglued at the slightest provocation.
The video shows a perfect example this.

here's some gasoline for the fire, what if they'd have found a couple of rounds of ammo in his golf bag?

It’s been mentioned before, but it would be real interesting on the past arrests this fricking dolt has been apart of.

Scheffler isn't going to do that. Agents know the best lawyers for these scenarios for every city they play in. It is part of their job.
They got a guy that will scare the bejesus out of the LPD and this will all go away.
The cop will sue Scheffler and the PGA though, no question.
LPD is going to fight the release of the bodycam tooth and nail
TMZ will get it by tomorrow though

That wont go well for him

It'll probably go great, Scheffler will likely settle to make it go away. The bodycam would have to be completely atrocious for the officer for him not to do it.

Would like to know how the phone call between defense attorney and da went.
If Scotty goes with the can’t talk about it on advice of counsel, da is going to let it run a regular course through the system.
If Scotty is contrite, an understanding has been reached.
