Roma losing his shite over being given a lead for Patel shows what a good salesman thought of the ones currently being handed out.
Exactly, and that's why the movie should have ended after Baldwin's bullshite. Someone should have taken the watch off his wrist, thrown it out the window, and said, "Now it ain't worth shite, just like these fricking leads."

The Baldwin scene is apparently supposed to be a depiction of both what is wrong with the sales industry and what is wrong with Mitch and Murray’s business.

It was a giant “the reason you suck” speech to the three remaining salesmen by telling them Roma is staying and two of them would be going.

When Levine pointed out that the leads were leak, he got screamed at and told that HE was weak.

Mitch and Murray didn’t want to “waste” the Glengarry leads on the three of them but they couldn’t prove their worth given how bad the Rancho Rio leads were.

Not sure I could see those three selling much from those leads but there was a better shot of that than them selling to Patel, the Nyborgs, etc, who were either not going to buy regardless or who would bounce their check.
