The reason i ask is i have an angled roof and the back side literally gets full sun from it coming up in the morning until it sets in the afternoon. Surely i can use this to my advantage with some solar panels right? I'm in Florida so could pretty much be a year round source of power. My house is big and the monthly utility bill especially during the summer gets pretty high. Is this worth pursuing ? Figured id start here with the OT to get some feedback from others that may have or own a home with solar panels.

Do you have wind too? Maybe add wind turbines too and let everyone know how trashy you are.

I really do not see or have seen reports that is financially feasible over a long period of time.

I have a ground mount in west Texas and getting some beta test AC modules later this year for the Houston house.

What direction does your roof face?

It’s really dependent on the utility rate, the house and its solar access, and the persons consumption. You really need to get an Aurora or something similar to model the system to know for sure.

No idea but I don't see many houses with solar panels so I'm thinking if it were a net gain they'd be fairly common by now.

Atta boy. Higher than expected Hurricanes this year. Have them installed now. Then if one hits Jacksonville, let us know how far inland your panels went to in Georgia.

Florida has the strictest AHJ requirements in the country for solar. There’s no way it would be installed without properly rated equipment and possible a 5400Pa module if he’s zone D.
