Trae is great at making plays for others
Can he do this without dominating the ball? Garland can.

Even assuming you're true, there is a huge difference in an NBA player requesting a trade and an NBA player being a locker room cancer (and forcing the team to trade him).
They’re really isn’t. You’re splitting hairs. Both shouldn’t be on the team.

So Trae is not a traditional point guard but averages 10 assists a game??
Yes.
In what way is "holding onto the ball and not initiating any sort of set offense and only passing when he can get an easy assist" playing "traditional" pg?
Maybe in the crazy 1960s?

According him hes not being maximized with Mitchell- meaning he wants the ball more.
I mean, he did take a step back this year. Ingram was allowed more FGA and I imagine if we got a real lead guard, they'd be given more possible changes for FGA.
Different universe from haliocentric Trae.

He literally runs pick and rolls all the time with Capella and gets other players easy 3s. Isn’t a point guard suppose to get easy assists?
Look being critical of Trae is understandable he has certain flaws but acting like hes not a true point guard is not one of the flaws.

Or when Garland does this in crunch time

Can he successfully do this in crunch time? Despite BI's offense breaking tendencies, we wouldn't be looking to trade him if he could handle defensive pressure better.
I still have Murray at the top of my list, but Trae seems like he's the only one on the short list that can raise the ceiling. Is it like Dallas trading for Kyrie, kind of, but that worked out better than people expected.

Trae, far better player and far better fit with Zion
Darius is an excellent fit with Zion as well. Garland is a very good passer and a good shooter. He's bad on defense, but he is Trae bad.

The first reply to this tweet sums it up

Lol it's easy to fall in love with him watching his highlights. A few full games will paint a different picture.
Garland can't hear this discussion b/c he's in the 2nd round of the playoffs. Why isn't Trae? When was the last year Trae made the 2nd round?

Not a locker room-killing a-hole
Neither is Trae
There have been many reports that Trae has been a locker room a-hole and that his teammates hate playing with him.

Because of DONOVAN MITCHELL.

And also, Garland was a complete non factor in these playoffs, scoring 15 or less in 9 of 12 games.

I would probably go Garland. One of the reasons is I think Trae offers a lot of the same issues BI does, specifically his next deal. Trae essentially only has two years left on his deal, he could opt out in 2026, then you have to pay him. Which do you really want to give him whatever his max would be at that point? At least Garland's deal is until 2028.

To me its 2 years to figure out if he works with Zion. Meanwhile you’re stuck with Garland regardless.

Trae’s next deal would still be for 30% of the cap which is where he is currently, so yes I wouldn’t mind it one bit.
He would be at 8-9 years in league which means he’s not eligible for the 35% supermax unless he makes the next two all pro teams, which in that case it means it’s working great and he’s worth the 35%

4. More of a playmaker
This has got to be a troll. That's like saying Ayton is a better playmaker than Jokic.

Have you never seen either one play? Trae is offensively superior. Garland was so bad in the playoffs.

You need to work on your comps.

Are you ok with paying BI as well?
