What kind of grass is this? It’s super dense and healthy.

I have to know, was one of those pictures taken on the other side of the fence?

I thought same. But the prior owner never laid any St Aug sod. I didn’t think you could grow SA from seed?
I was thinking it is carpet grass. Whatever it is, it does really well. Good color and very thick.

What you mean?
Nothing. Just that one pic looks greener than the other two. I was wondering if the grass really was greener on the other side of the fence.

Carpet grass or St Aug. If the leaves come off as a V it is St Aug. If they alternate it is carpet grass. If it is carpet grass do not spray Celsius on it.

That makes sense. Confirms its Carpet Grass. It’s actually a great looking grass. Did well during the drought last year. Doesn’t get many weeds in it. Why is Carpet Grass not used more? It’s better than the St Aug and Centipede that I have by FAR.

I have some carpet grass as well. It's not my favorite. What is the ideal height to cut it at?

I don’t know what’s ideal. But I cut mine at 2.25 and it thrives.

Shallow roots, doesn't produce the color of other grass, and the big one is it is very hard to get rid of weeds in carpetgrass as most herbicides will treat it like a broadleaf weed.
