The owner of my shop recommends only getting gas from the big name brand guys. Also don't get gas from some hole in the wall covered up with vape stickers. He says that most gas contamination issues they see if from people buying at discount places.

Why is this rocket science? If you buy gas from a place that generates revenue mostly off of fried chicken and taquitos, do we think there's less gas turnover than at a Buccee's, a Shell at a an intersection off of I-10, a Racetrac, etc.?
I've bought ice and water at plenty of shitehole stations in Texas, but I don't buy gas there. I hit the QT, Sam's, etc. for fuel. This does feel like a problem nobody actually has, but hears about.
