Shoot...I guess they just need to bite the bullet and aim to be more careful next time.

3 for the price of 1, nice.

local security was not amused when he offered to buy a round for the house, he was dead in their sights at that point, they had no choice but to squeeze the trigger on him

I'm sure you read the entire criminal code for every municipality, state and country you travel to.

I didnt need to. I used common sense and just figured that carrying a hidden firearm or ammo in my suitcase was a bad fricking idea.

Sorry that nobody told them at the border every single rule but at some point , just use your fricking common sense. Did carrying ammo to a foreign country sound like a good idea? Hell no

Five times huh? Yeah, I don’t believe you.

That’s the call out.

Turks is good for one trip. Place is third world. One grocery store. Same sand and ocean everywhere else in the Caribbean.

Maybe I could get behind it a little if they were caught smuggling them in, but smuggling them out??? If the premise of the law is that they don’t want that there then they were doing T&C a favor by removing them.

I’m not sure why yall keep repeating this shite. It wasn’t hidden ammo, they weren’t trying to smuggle ammo . One or two rounds of loose ammo should be treated with some fricking common sense.

I totally get that and understand the mistake. And no, he should not face any kind of sentencing like that

But this guy is asking me if I read the entry rules like there are places that you can just bring ammo in to the country without claiming it.

I dont need to read the rules, I pretty much know they by common sense

This has nothing to do with common sense. It was an accident. I know a very responsible person that had this exact same thing happen to him in Mexico. He paid a fine and was on his way.

Even responsible people can make mistakes.

I’m not saying he didn’t do anything wrong and that he’s not an idiot, I’m pointing out that our government and our media went crazy to try and help a minor celebrity that was purposefully trying to smuggle marijuana related products into Russia

you do this in Mexico and the round is above a certain caliber(can't remember if it's 40 cal. or 9mm,) and it's considered a terrorist act, it sort of behooves you to know what the rules are before venturing abroad

What part of "accident" are people not getting. Knowing the rules is irrelevant.

And everything is negotiable in Mexico.

I had one loose 40 round in my book bag. Flew through MSY to Vegas with zero issue. Coming back, TSA in Vegas lost their shite. It was an accident.

Are you facing 12-years in prison? No, despite the U.S. having among the strictest airport security in the world.

Exactly my point. These dumbasses want to punish people without any application of common sense. We all know the law is not in fact always the law, and it’s not always black and white
