The GMs that will go after Trae will probably be the type that are blinded by optimism and love buying at a discount...

People on here are kinda dumb.
They have been shitting on bi's value.
Someone called it "deeply low".

As it's been said a bunch, many Pels fans are being too emotional and vastly undervaluing what we can get for BI in a trade.

Read the exact wording again. He could also have more suitors because:
He will cost way less because he’s worth way less
Or
Trae’s value is so bad it’s worse than Brandon Ingrams, which is also terrible.

Ya know, the more I let this sink in the more I’m intrigued by a Zion and Trae pairing. I know CJ and Trae together would be a problem on defense but I get all tingly flirting with the idea of Zion and Trae killing teams off the picknroll.

But he's only worth a role player or two and 2 non lottery firsts.
This is why we shoudn't be settling with this trade. BI has been forced to be the #1 over here for 5 years, and he's not a #1. That doesn't mean he sucks. He's going to be a good #2 or even #3 for a really good team after this trade.
No one gives a shite about what he did in the last 6 games but people on this board.
He's a guy who's thought of as a top 30 guy in the league, at a premier position with premier size and skill.
But sure lets just trade him for Jarrett Allen
They'll come around eventually.

Would you give up Cj, herb, picks for Trae young and okongwu?
Interesting concept pairing, it'd look like indy with the scoring and speed imho

It would be tempting because we get off CJ. And could possible still trade BI for a better fitting piece. Or at worst wait till the deadline to se how he fits. Would have to hope DD really improved a level or two to fill Herbs shoes.
I want Trae more than any name or trade I’ve seen so far mostly for his fit with Herb, Trey and Zion. I think that can be our core 4 for years to come with the right center added. Would be an exciting experiment to see on the court.
And like I said in the other threads, he’s pretty devalued right now. So Griff should feel like he wins any trade involving him.

Young/daniels/alvarado
Suggs/Hawkins
Murphy/Marshall
Williamson/isaac
Okongwu/WCJ (preserving health imho)
Ingram, nance to Orlando for suggs, wcj, Isaac.
Why? The Wagner bros are very close to Ingram, they practice together in the offseason. He gives them another scoring option and length at wing that Wagner can move to a more natural 2

Nobody is filling Herb's shoes. If your goal is to stop a player 1-5, even now Dyson might be the better choice. But if your goal is to stop a play, Herb is and always will be better than Dyson because Herb's defensive IQ is ridiculous. We've seen him stop 2, even 3 of the opposing teams best players...on the same play...many times. If you need to cover for Trae's defense, you need to keep Herb.
I'm starting to come around on Trae. I still like Murray best, but he's the safe choice. He raises the floor but relies on Zion being an MVP candidate to raise the ceiling. The risk that comes with Trae is a potential floor lowering downside, especially if he rubs everyone the wrong way. But he also raises the ceiling, and I suspect he can weaponize Zion in a way we've never seen in the NBA. We got glimpses of it with Lonzo, but that was mostly in transition. Trae should be able to do that with Zion in the half court.

The main deal is likely Trae buying in that Zion is Batman and he is Robin.
Trae trying to be Batman and thinking he was bigger than the team with the Hawks has been a lot of the problems there IIRC.

People are saying they are friends off the court that want to play together. I have no idea how true or strong that is, but if it's even half true I'm not worried about their personal chemistry. We also need to remember that the point of Point Zion isn't to let Zion run the offense, it's to get Zion the ball in space on the move and maximize the options he has. If Trae is moving the defense Zion can score on cuts since Trae is a pretty good passer.

Agree 100%. My entire premise in Trae is pairing him w/ Herb and DD. I’m sure the Hawks probably see what I see and that’s why they wanted Herb so badly for Murray. If they are trading Trae, I don’t really see the need for them to really want Herb. I woukd think BI woukd have more value to them to replace scoring. .
I think Trae will definitely unlock Zion and give Trey and Herb more open looks. I hoping Griff makes it happen. I want to see it. If it goes down in flames so be it. It will be exciting and put butts in seats and raise our national exposure.

Who has he really played with? Murray is a good player, but I’d say BI is better than him. And everyone knew they wouldn’t fit when that trade was made. Collins was solid, but really nothing special. He’s never played with anyone close to Zions talent level. And we have the ultimate role/glue guys in Herb and Trey to fill out the wings.

Wagner is 6'10. I always thought he was a 3/4 tweener. They play him at SG?

The right thing is that David Griffin is doing excellent work currently. He is def good at this part of the game.
Griffin didn't make fisher go talk to executives about bi's value.
This is how most view Ingram

If you think Trae Young is more valuable than BI you either don’t watch basketball or you’re an emotionally fragile person who overreacts to every thing. Fact is Bi was playing great ball before the injury and overall had a very good season. BI disappeared in the playoffs because - he was rushing back from an injury and it was obvious he wasn’t ready and having no Zion and CJ completely disappearing left him as the only offensive option. Toss in WG inability to coach and there you have it
