I think working from home in a hybrid model is working VERY well. Many companies are letting salary folks work like this:
Week 1: 3 days in office 2 work from home
Week 2: 2 days in office 3 work from home
repeat.
That's a damned fine compromise you'll find.
This especially holds true for people who commute more than 30 minutes or so to work.
And the HR/recruiting folks are finding they are able to attract talent from a much wider radius from the home office.
For example, New Orleans area companies can attract talent from Baton Rouge all the way to Gulfport with this kind of model.
