Nice little birdie there...
And Scottie with his first par of the day.

How many people can get charged with a Felony and 3 hours later be 1 under through 4 holes at a major?

Happy Gilmore accomplished that feat no more than an hour ago.

PGA and Scheffler make substantial donations to the Police Benevolent Fund and the charges disappear, but Louisville has fricked themselves regarding future high profile events.

This was just a gigantic cluster f and misunderstanding and miscommunication that will be settled to everyone's satisfaction at the end of the day and everyone will move on.
I have driven into a PGA Championship before with a credentialed car.
I can tell you from experience that it doesn't matter how well the system is organized, it doesn't matter if they have Marie Kondo in there organizing it and setting it up, IF SOMETHING OUT OF THE ORDINARY HAPPENS AS HAPPENED HERE, it turns into mass chaos and all the organization goes into the crapper. And there ain't a damn thing anyone can do about it.
As far as police ... it's impossible to have a nuanced, rational discussion of them with all the crap that's percolating right now. Between libertarians who think that no one should impede them from doing that which they want to do or compel them to do that which they don't want to do, and the various entities who think that events of the past should ensure them some type of free pass for God knows what.
I worked with a lot of them during my years as a journalist, and I will put my hand on a Bible and say that the overwhelming, vast majority of them were just normal schmucks like the rest of us, trying to do their job and go home. And I've seen them up to their knees in s**t that would make most of us here vomit. And I've seen them deal with people that if I were treated that way, I'd probably have crossed the line and wound up in prison, but they didn't. And I've seen them grovel for funding not for play toys but for necessities.
The police chief in my own town is one of the finest men who ever drew breath, and runs his department accordingly.
Of course I also have encountered LEOs who it made me about as leery and fearful that they have guns as your average street thug, I've encountered some with messianic complexes. warrior complexes, I'll go there outright racists, who in my uneducated opinion were borderline psychotic and who were probably still in their minds being shelled on a battlefield in the Mideast somewhere when they pull a speeding driver over.
Now, tell me the absolutely foolproof, 100% guaranteed, there will never be any slipups or deviations way to ensure some of those people don't get in the mix.
And how to make the whole job perfect and less impossible, with no possibility of cluster f's when things go South?
I try to avoid broad-brush, knee-jerk statements about anyone or anything.
Just my .02 ...

I just wish any of the officers involved would have allow the reporter or Scottie to speak. Guilty until proven innocent but they also won’t let either say a single word without talking over them. Madness.

It will at the end of the day be addressed to everyone’s satisfaction. It is in the LMPD’s best interests for this story to go away too.

Oh, it gets better. Shout out to my Louisville people for doing it right.
