The Lakota were horribly vicious and had no qualms displacing other tribes. They kicked the Cheyenne and the Kiowa out of the Black Hills sometime in the mid to late 1700s. They were on that land barely 100 years before the US government pushed them out.

There is nothing more depressing than driving through Indian country out west. It’s just hundreds of miles of abject poverty. There is virtually nothing in terms of industry and economy. Even my trip to the Grand Canyon was a huge letdown thanks in part to the bum arse Indian tribe that controls a chunk of it.
