If you’re speaking from a position of power or relevance as he is, and you’re proclaiming that IVF and surrogacy are in defiance of God’s will, then yes, that is an uncompromising pursuit of religious ideals.
Speaking your beliefs is an uncompromising pursuit of religious ideals?
So, to not be a zealot, one cannot speak their beliefs?
And I find it odd that you don't think there are negative connotations to the title zealot, but again, I guess you do you.

I don’t see how one could think otherwise, honestly, regardless of how many extreme examples of zealotry you throw out there to try and make Butker’s example seem tame by comparison.
So hypothetical. Homosexuality. I'm not asking you to defend one position, that's not the debate here.
Would it have been zealotry for Butker to say "Homosexuality is a disordered desire?"
Is it also, zealotry, I would think so, that in some muslim countries to throw homosexuals off of a roof?
Are you telling me that BOTH of these things are zealotry? Because I'm going to say the second is legit zealotry, but I'm really not ready to say the first is.
