he may try but it's very hard to do, once football is over you are starting sec play and that's not the time to be learning on the fly
would be nice to have him for depth purposes and I guess technically he wouldn't count as a roster spot for hoops

he was ineligible this year for basketball at Zachary

He'll try to do it then stop and focus football. Almost always happens.

LSU can only have 12 scholarship players this year (instead of 13). They have already hit 12, so the 13th guy would have to technically be a walk-on like they did with Hunter Dean last year.

Assuming they can't find another strictly basketball player to join the roster, then why not let Green join the team? He was a solid basketball player and got offers to play in college. LSU is pretty deep at TE, so it's likely he won't get a ton of PT on the football field this year. If he can give you anything on the basketball court it would be a plus. If not. No big deal because you wouldn't be counting on him to contribute

I wish him the best if he wants to try this. But it is so difficult and challenging today.

It seems like there are more things college athletes are expected to do outside of practice and somehow taking care of academics.
