2 good SEC starters. Would be big to land both of these guys. They’ll both start and be solid players for us. Would still need a couple DTs but would be a big step to infusing the defense with more proven talent

He entered the portal during the first opening so I believe he would be clear to play.

Baron is better than anything we have on the front 7 (excluding Perk). I'm not sure what Blake Baker has in mind as for as scheme but Baron is a the type of player you have to gameplan for... he kinda reminds me of the kid from UCLA that just went in the first round.

Yea Baron would instantly become the 2nd best player on our defense. Walker probably one of the 4-5 best too.

247 also has him as a transfer from Louisville, not Tennessee. SEC transfer rule wouldn’t apply in that case.
If he’s not already enrolled at Louisville, I suspect he never “officially” cleared the portal (in which case he would actually still be in the portal from the fall window). In any event he notified Tennessee of his intent to transfer back in December.
I would think that if LSU and Ole Miss are taking a serious look at him, they know he’ll be eligible this year.

Billy Embody was on with Moscona yesterday and said he had signed some type of paper with Ole Miss and they would have to release him first. No idea what he was talking about but that’s what he was saying.

Interesting. I assumed that if he had actually enrolled somewhere else it would have been Louisville, not Ole Miss.

The lack of excitement buzz about us potentially landing these 2 is crazy to me. Would be great additions this late in the game. Baron would be our best portal get this cycle.

Shite, I don't get it either.
Baron is a legit difference maker at edge. I will say I'm shocked lsu is the team to land him. When he first went into the portal it sounded like he was all about nil.
Lsu clearly needs safety help and walker would sure up one spot.

I think Walker is the most important one. That is our weakest position. The freshmen are pretty talented but they're too inexperienced. We need a veteran playmaker who doesn't give up a big play every time

Exactly….we’ve been down this road before and then a team willing to offer more NIL comes along. Cautiously optimistic is the way to go lol. Really hope we get them. Could really improve our D.

The addition of these 2 would allow blake baker to be multiple on defense with the addition of Paz and Suggs. Lsu does not have to have a shut everything down defense. They just need to stop the run and get to the qb on 3rd down and get off the field. This would be a good move imo

They were willing to go to Louisville which proves we can get them if we want them. We definitely need them

Thought ole miss won’t allow Baron to transfer within the sec?
