He’s hit really well the last couple years in AAA but had no path to the bigs in Chicago. I’m assuming he’ll have one in Seattle. A call up may be coming soon

Cam Sanders should have got called up last year

Wow I didn’t even realize he was in AAA. Good for him.
Pretty incredible for an 18th round pick & in year 5 or 6 of pro ball?
Papierski is on Seattle’s AAA team too

a solid source told me he'd be getting his first start in a few days after this trade

AAA Stats for Slaughter. He was called up to start the season last year but was on the IL until mid April, then was briefly on the IL again for a few weeks in September. He's basically had 1 full season worth of ABs in AAA
136 games
27 HRs
94 RBIs
.255 BA (.297 this year)
.338 OBP (.392 this year)
.821 OPS (.878 this year)
26 SBs
He's also started games at every infield position in AAA as well as left field (primarily 2B and 3B), which provides value.

Saw him a couple of years back in Biloxi. He smashed two bombs that game.

Paps already had abs in the bigs I'm almost positive

Yes he played a good bit in 2022. Hasn’t been back since though.

To do what? Walk the lineup? He’s doing just fine at that in the minors. Dude has more BB than IP. He got demoted back to AA. He’s more than likely done. Dam shame cause his stuff is electric. Buuuuut, 92 BB in 82IP over the past 2 years. That ain’t gonna quite get you a call lol

Still wish Slaughter wouldn’t have slid into second like that in 2017 CWS. What could’ve been.

He's no Chris Reid, though

Ahhh ole Mr Squints. Good luck to you sir and hope you make it to the show

Yeah, no path to the bigs with the Cubbies. A lot of very young talent on Chicago’s roster. This is going to be a great opportunity for Slaughter to get called up.
