Just watched. Dang near tear jerker. Nobody has a perfect father, but the love between a father and son is like no other. If you haven't seen it, go watch, its currently on Netflix.

If you have a relationship with your father, cherish it and squeeze out all the juice of life it provides. If you don't have a relationship with your father I encourage you to put away any skeletons you can and tell the old man you love 'em. He won't be here forever, and neither will you.

I did not think it was that great, understand its a drama, but was a bit over the top.

It had a lot of melodrama that made it feel like so many courtroom dramas from the 80s and 90s.

It had a lot of melodrama and honestly seemed a little Oscarbaity and try hard but it was a nice movie.

I’m sure RDJ enjoyed not having to play an over the top role during that Tropic Thunder/Iron Man/Sherlock stretch.

I just watched it Saturday and I thought it was pretty good. Like a couple have already said it's a little over the top at times but Duvall gave a pretty good performance imo. All in all a decent watch

That's one of the reasons I enjoyed it. Plus anything with Robert Duvall is worth watching

I love a good melodramatic 80s/90s courtroom drama

I completely lost it during the fishing scene. Robert Duvall has always reminded me of my dad and that scene just hit me a hard after my dad had been on my mind a lot.

That’s WHY I watched it.

Adding RDJ and Billy Bob Thorton in were bonuses.

Thought it was alright, just so many subplots going on it became a bit too much and as someone else said, heavily melodramatic.

It is one of the reasons why I'm happy RDJ is done with the MCU, people can forget how good of an actor he is when not surrounded by green screens.
