I’m not impressed with this state. Nothing to see. Why don’t they have a highway that takes you to the beaches? Had to drive country roads for 3 hours to get here.
Felt like all I saw was churches and cemeteries with cement slabs over every gravesite.
You guys need more exits for food too. Luckily there was a buc-ees.

You shoulda used GPS I guess.

Driving north from Mobile to Montgomery is one of the worst FM radio dead zones that I’ve ever encountered. That’s my prime complaint about driving in the state. Bonus: Their Welcome Centers are attractive, and staffed with people whose drawls will put you in mind of dripping syrup. Sweet!

Panama City was nice like 35 years ago.

that's not true. we use to stay there a few years in a row during spring breaks in the 80's because it was cheap and it was shady drug infested shite-hole during that time.

What are you talking about about? I-65 takes you straight to Mobile. If you're going to Florida panhandle, get off on 231 in Montgomery.

There's no "country roads" on this route. Sorry that your GPS fricked you.

I remember staying at some place called the Majestic Inn. I wore my flip-flops in the shower.

At least there is scenery like swamps and gators you can get glimpses of. Now that northern part of the state looks like Typical Ms. Or east TX. And they act just like that as well. RedNecks

I know when we get to Alabama without signs because it is 2 lane roads and yard sales for the next hour or 2.

Stfu.

There's a major city in each part of the State. If your dumbass can't find a place to eat, that's your fault.

As someone who has in-laws in Kentucky and has to drive through Alabama to go see the stepson in Atlanta,

Huh? What part of Kentucky do they live as you would need to go to Alabama to get to Atlanta? Strange route

Glad to know you went to PCB. Gulf Shores and Orange Beach are already too crowded.

Try traveling I-65 this summer when the northerners are headed to the beach. That’s really enjoyable. Lol

I disagree. Alabama's a beautiful state.

Nice beaches, mountains, caves, swamps, rivers. genuine southern belles, Conecuh Sausage- and yes- a Buc-ees. Good folks, too- despite the disagreements on who to root for during college football season.

All that alone is enough to keep a fella busy for a while.

I drive up 65 through to 85 several times a year. It's become rather old hat, but still, 65 from Mobile to Montgomery remains the most brutally boring stretch of Interstate I know of. Time just seems to move at an absolute crawl during that stretch for some reason.

It is a pretty boring stretch, but it's rural interstate. Lots of trees and a few farms and towns.I drive I-85 north of Atlanta a few times a year. From Clemson to Charlotte to Statesville (I-77), it's nothing but traffic and commercial buildings.

I'll take rural interstate any time.
