I had umbilical hernia after a lap chole. Had it repaired at the same time my right inguinal hernia was repaired.
The surgery was great, couldn't be easier. The 1st few days of recovery sucked as I was out of pain meds and they screwed up the script on a Friday. Went 1st 3 days without any pain meds.
Rest of the recovery was cake. Now I have a ventral hernia of the mesentary fat I got from being sick during and after left inguinal hernia repair. It's towards your head above the belly button where they inserted the scope.

My husband did many years ago. Orthoscopic surgery wasn't bad .. was in hospital for a few hours and then home. Think itw as on a Friday. He went to mass on Sunday and just laid low. I remember he took pain meds for maybe two days because I didn't want him to hurt. Then I switched to Tylenol and he didn't even realize.
Worst part was no lifting for ~6 weeks ... his job requires a good bit of it but his employees handled all of it.

Had one a few years ago. Doc fixed the hernia and put a plastic grid inside to keep it in.

No mesh.
Recovered nicely.

I had one. Got surgery without mesh. The surgery itself was easy; in/out same day. Sleeping on my back ( without being able to turnover over ), for a few days was the worst part.
They gave me pain pills that i only took one of because they make me nautious.
Not that bad.

Have one right now. My doctor said as long as I’m not in pain and it doesn’t get bigger/uncomfortable no surgery yet.
Noticed mine when I lost weight and scratched my belly button one day.

I have one and it’s only aesthetically bothersome. Really want to fix it, wife doesn’t want me to have unnecessary surgery.

Got cut today. Hurts like a son of a bitch, but at least it is done. shite like this is always frustrating because I things to do. Also, being a dad, and a bigger guy, it is always tough to have weak moments. I give my daughter a piggy back from the bus stop every day. She is a little spider monkey and literally climbs me to get on my shoulders. Having to take a few days off from that kind of stuff is difficult.
