It’s amazing how last year one of the main reasons we won the National Championship was because of him. Now he’s going to be the main reason we won’t make the tournament. The talent is there we saw it last year but he’s lost out there right now.

couple of breaks and LSU sweeps bama.

Didn’t even need a couple breaks. Just needed average catching and they sweep. Obviously the bad throw by Milazzo Friday and today Neal cost us 2 runs because he let a ball at his shoulder get to the backstop

Many of you know more baseball than I ever will, but this failure really looked like a team effort. It’s too easy, and inappropriate just to point out Hurd’s disappointing performance.

It came down to that play, but he didn’t load the bases with 2 outs. LSU loses and wins as a team. No single player is responsible for all wins or all losses. A lot of things should have been different.

It bothers that people are so dumb to post this. And it bothers me more that so many other dumbasses upvoted it. Hurd has been disappointing, but I don’t think you know what “sole” means.

Sure, team struggles all around, but it’s not inappropriate to point out that your (preseason expectations) Friday night starter demoting to strictly a mid-week relief guy sorta sabotaged the season.

Analytics is the ruination of baseball. At all levels.

I believe in analytics because it’s always been part of baseball. It’s a philosophy around scoring runs. Without question you have to get on base to score runs. If you score runs by the 3-run homer then isn’t that equal to scoring 3 runs by putting men on base and driving them in with singles?
UK is good at playing both types of games when needed.

If Hurd throws 9 innings this game and gives up only 4 that would have been a great performance. No pitcher was the reason for losing today.

Yeah. 99% of threads on this board are started by morons.

. Johnson is all about hitting for power and OPS and all that other bullshite. UK is all about scoring runs

So you don't think that those numbers are statistically proven to lead to more runs?

There it is. You won't be in a thread without talking about wanting to bunt.

Not sure LSU has had a batter with Tommy White power batting 1 or 2 all year. Seems like his production may have been better at 3 of 4.

Just goes to show you that some guys just have it even as freshmen because Alex Lange did dominate from the beginning and Cam was a higher pitching prospect than Lange.

This. The reasons we're in this position are nearly uncountable.

Some years are like that, just like in championship years when everything breaks our way.

This sucks, but we're not done yet so who knows.

My God at our so called LSU fans. People like this don’t really care for their team, they only care about their own feelings. What a pussy.

I think Cam Johnson will be good.

They need an offseason with him.

He has a similar issue to Moffet. just way to much goin on in his delivery to be accurate.

But he’s farther along than Moffett was last year.

if he can tighten everything up he’ll be amazing.

When you don’t have people that can get on base between the few that can hit HRs, then they will lead to more losses than not when facing decent pitching. YOU HAVE TO HAVE BASE RUNNERS TO DRIVE THEM IN.

What about steals and walks and just getting on base? You left that out.

This team lacks fundamentals and once again decent pitching (not great) beats that arse because they cannot hit the ball for shite or draw walks.
But go no further than the ninth inning today.
Lead off runner on and he has ZERO confidence in bunting the runner over because his team sucks arse at it.

Bear took the lazy route trying to catch the ball behind the runner. Especially knowing you can’t let it get by you. You dog Hurd but there’s several guys who didn’t step up.
