LSU gave up 4 runs, 3 of which came from a passed ball and a LF dropping a ball in his glove and you’re blaming pitching. Some people on here are truly retarded

Also when you struggle to score more than 4 runs in game 3’s throughout the year

Face it, Dutton's not a starter. That's a sign of desperation.

I would have said screw it and started Cam Johnson just to see how far he could go.

In all seriousness I wish they just had him go 1 inning.

Dutton should have transferred to Ranch U.

I’d be very surprised if Jay can keep him out of the portal.

Developing kade anderson the last 6 weeks and working through the ups and downs wouldve been a better choice IMO. After what we saw the first month of the season from him, im not sure how or why we didnt go that way

Sundays are usually reserved for your shittier pitching. I’m not certain LSU has scored more than 7 runs in a conference game on Sunday this year. Regardless if bucket head started today, they still held Bama to 4 runs.

We held 0 SEC teams to less than 5 runs last season on Sundays.

Why are we talking about pitching?

It really amazes me how the hitting routinely shites the bed along with pitching in gm 3s when that’s the game they should be hitting the best against most teams scrub pitchers.

Wasn’t this team supposed to have a loaded pitching staff? That was the talking point before the season started at least.

We gave up 4 runs. If you can’t hit their Sunday pitching for more than 3 runs you just deserve a loss.

We have the same team era as last year. We score less runs. That’s the major difference.

did you watch the midweek game?

they had him throwing a ton of breaking balls to try and find it.

he just wasn’t there consistently with his second pitch to make his FB work in SEC play

and these games do matter.

even though I expected LSU to struggle offensively the hitting has still been more disappointing to me. I had concerns about replacing that many bats. I wish LSU could have hit on a couple of the more talented proven bats out of the portal. hope they can next go around. it's nice to have that kind of a blend.

regardless of the excuses we should score more than 3 runs on a Sunday.

Like i said, it wouldve been a work in progress, and he would probably have come through it better. Truth is he only got one sec start and was super unlucky in it

it was a work in progress and still is it just didn’t progress in a way that made him a viable option when we got to this point.

Too many guys are getting the “well maybe he’s better as a starter” take which is somewhat insane.

if you can’t hack it out the pen you’re just not going to get a bunch of opportunities to start. Coleman was an exception because of his I jury turnaround
