Why wouldn’t Mitchell consider transferring if he doesn’t get a chance to play (i.e. Zeb Ruddell)? CJJ is going to play the same outfield he played this year with Kling, Pearson, Brown and Larson. No reason to stay to sit another year if he is not given an opportunity. Coach likes his .240 or less players (Larson is an exception).

With as many lineup and position changes we saw in the fall and throughout the season, I’m confident that if Jay thought Mitchell, or anyone else, could have contributed, we would have seen them.

I mean someone will probably take a flyer on Kling in rounds 15-20 for peanuts.

Sure he can go, but he could make a lot more by pulling an Andrew Stevenson and hitting for a high average his Jr year.

These days if you can’t hit homers you better be an elite defender (he’s really close) and hit a ton of singles and doubles (long way to go).

He feasts on walks and HBPs which get less and less common in pro ball.

Frey, Kling,

Kling is your starting CF & Frey had a direct line at either DH or 1B

Easiest way to pinpoint transfers are guys that have been on the roster for 2 seasons and don’t really play. So pitchers & OF’ers is where you start

Yeah, especially since he could come back to LSU and he isn't going to go in the first 5 rounds. I am not sure where the crossover is for a possible wasted pick (since he has options to come back to college) on a project.

I hope he returns, I still think his upside is huge, feel like most of his batting woes are in his head.

Yeah, he is very close to being elite, his range/speed is already elite. Because of his range/speed, he has made some catches look routine this season that were anything but. But his hitting woes have been hard to watch and are more apparent to the casual fan as well. So he get a lot of grief, some deserved and some not.

Yeah and those things may make a difference to a guy on the draft bubble or for draft positioning but will never be THE reason a guy is coveted in the draft.

If you don’t see the potential in Cam Johnson then you’re actually dumber than I thought

He just needs to find his control.
