Any good things that happen from year 3 and on are the responsibility of the current coach.

Arbitrary rule. So he gets no credit for last year it’s just after year 3? Your biases are really showing now. I’m not saying he doesn’t deserve any blame btw.

Lester, you're as confused as much as you are in most of your 300,000 posts. Johnson's path is presently tracking the same as Orgeron's at LSU. Whether he continues that track is entirely up to him, not me, you, or anyone else on this board.

Here’s the list of current players that committed to LSU under Paul. Credit to projectP for the list.

I really don’t care about that list because 3 years is ample time for a coach to make a roster his own and remove/add players as needed.

You’re not going to convince me that a coach in year 3 is still helpless to build his own team and create a champion.

also, Florida who was in the championship series with us last year is having an atrocious year as well. they have 11 sec wins, but overall they are 26-25. YIKES

He's a top 5 coach in baseball. Fire him too?

Honestly they should. That dude does less with more basically every year.

Got it, so we are firing Kevin O’Sullivan. I assume we are also firing Chris Lemonis and Mike Bianco (both of whom failed to make a regional after winning CWS).

In other words, all of the SEC coaches with national titles should be fired, except for Tim Corbin.

He would not have that ring if not for two of the best college baseball players ever. So not sure he is that great

Isn’t that part of coaching?

Would any championship winning coach have won without great players???

There have been several coaches with great players who couldn’t win championships

Like Paul Mainieri? He won a championship, and he assembled that roster. People crapped on him, too, but I don't know if he ever had a team as bad as this one.

The 2011 team would like to say hello.

Should we take away all the rings Bergman won with Walker and Furniss?

Our very own Dale Brown is the poster child for this syndrome.

It’s not arbitrary regardless of whether or not your simpleton brain can understand it. The more time passes the less the previous coach impacts a team. 3 years is plenty of time to turn over a team and make it your own.

Ever heard of Larry Coker? As soon as Butch Davis’ players were gone we saw his true colors.

I just posted a long list of “Paul’s players” that you’re conveniently ignoring. Very strange.

And you’re ignoring all of the valid points that I just made. Call it even.

I’m done here with this discussion. Carry on

Nah, you couldn't. ANd you couldn't have gotten the key pieces from last years roster to LSU either.

Even the taller Mainieri would have won last year.

Maybe, he was a good coach, after all. Not sure he gets Skenes or White though.

Jones was fricking awesome until he wasn’t.

Dugas started every game from like the 2nd game except for a few injury games.

When the fundamentals are this off its the coach's fault 150%...no other place it could lie....these kids have been playing baseball all their lives...current coaching has to be throwing them off, they didn't just forget how to play the game.

You made no points.

Paul’s team were Paul’s teams. Jays teams are Jays team. Nobody deserves credit or blame for teams they didn’t coach. Period.

Everywhere he has been his teams are below average defensively and with Pitching! Only difference this year is this team can’t hit!

And yet he has always won.

Oh and can we not give credit to what he's done with Tommy White defensively? Or no? Came to LSU to play 3rd and they have him playing like a gold glover. I mean if you are sacrificing some defense to have guys like Jacob Berry and Tommy White in your lineup then please do.

The difference this year is you returned like 1 starting position player in the lineup. I guess I am the only one who expected this challenge with the lineup. That was a ton to overcome. I hope they can bring in at least one elite proven bat.

I have no concerns for next season, but if this happens again then I understand feeling uneasy.

I feel like most people said this in 2022. & then next season they won the natty
