Yes! Let's give a .230 ba more at bats for the most important game of the year ! Great decision CJJ!

Yeah I just don’t get that. I know Johnson is the coach but I’m not a fan of swapping the lineup every damn game. These guys have zero chance to get comfortable.

I agree.

Changing the batting order literally every game is so dumb too. Jay is quirky dude but I can’t get behind some of these decisions.

Would assume he’s just trying to reinforce some confidence in Pearson, who we need to stop sucking

The problem is LSU has only 5 decent hitters, it’s hard not to have some glaring holes in the lineup when that’s the case. In hindsight, CJJ should have portaled more players - both hitting and pitching.

On base is 340 and yesterday .400…. Maybe he’s looking at getting someone on base for Tommy?

Always gives a good at-bat and is an excellent base runner. There are most stats than just Ave.

Jay has mismanaged the leadoff spot for a while now. Bingham was on fire earlier in the year from the leadoff spot. Jay moved him down to the middle of the lineup and he started struggling. Then the same exact thing happens with Larson.
If someone is producing from the leadoff spot ahead of Tanks and Bear, why are you messing with that?

Pearson has the lowest OBP of any regular player. He might actually be the worst decision we can make at leadoff. It also made no sense in hitting him in the middle of the lineup, considering his batting average with RISP is less than .180. I’m just not sure where the confidence in him comes from.

Not sure if a good decision or not but bitching about using only BA as you only metric is stupid.

oh yeah those "other" metrics have made such a difference on this team. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

Lefty pull hitters who can not go opposite field make for terrible lead off hitters. Pearson should never lead off. Rather have Larson there.

Based on Milam's at bat in this game, and his recent plate performance, he is without a doubt the most logical leadoff man for LSU.
Very surprising that a seasoned coach, in a critical game. would choose to put our worst OBP player as leadoff.
It appears he is ready to call this a season.
