What is political about a Jewish person being pro-Israel? That's like saying it's political for a Catholic to be pro-Vatican City.

Most of Hollywood and academia.
There are a lot of people who see themselves as culturally Jewish but not religiously Jewish. Muslims do not make that distinction.
