I like getting old wood furniture that’s a step away from the landfill and restoring it.

Rocking chairs and old chests that have spent 60 plus years in a barn or somewhere similar seem to be the most common finds.

I give my wife all credit. Years ago she said to me “I’m fine with having more guns in the house. Just don’t get anything too…crazy.” I picked a good one.

I just got into pipe smoking. Been pretty enjoyable. Other than that, and sports obviously, I’d say buying & listening to music.

I have a job with long hours, a small child and a wife that has been sick for the last six months. Whenever I get free time I am usually recovering until I do it all over again. I went golfing once in the last few months so I guess that.

I make customized Star Wars themed art pieces as well as other select art pieces. I do it for fun. It started when I moved into engineering management and took my design hat off for work. It keeps my creative side going. If I made it as my primary source of income, I’d probably hate it.

Most of my time goes to work, kids, and a side gig. But, when I do find myself with some free time, I usually play video games.

I recently started making mead. Pretty fun little hobby that doesn't require tons of time and effort.

I've made a concerted effort to take better care of my yard this year so that takes up a couple of hours every weekend now.

I have guitars but I rarely play them. When my kids are older I will probably pick it back up. Also, when my side gig either peters out or becomes a my ft job I'll have more time too.

Those with kids what kind of hobbies do you have and how do you find time for them? Working all week and then family stuff on the weekends I’m not seeing much time available for them.

It’s weird to me that nowadays people spend all their free time doing stuff for their kids. You have to give yourself time, kids shouldn’t be the center of the family, they should be part of the family and that means mom and dad get time for themselves

I think I’ve figured it out. I’m going to make work my hobby. Because apparently that’s all it takes to make sure everything else takes up all your time and you never get to do it.

I play golf, I hunt, and I fish. I’ve played golf once since September, I deer hunted once and never made it duck hunting, and I haven’t wet a hook since July.

I have worked an insane amount. In fact, I’ve gifted my company the equivalent amount of unpaid overtime that equals more money than I made the year I graduated college. So there is that.
