My BIL, is at least agonistic if not atheist. He proudly flies an American flag with an Israeli flag underneath it. I've tried to understand his position given that he doesn't GAF about a "holyland". His replies are something along the lines of "what are you, a hamas terrorist" ? It seems a large portion of otherwise good Americans think that you must either support israel or you support goat fricking terrorists.
Thankfully it seems the camp of "how about neither?" is growing. Though as long as we have a system of our politicians being legally for sale, then I doubt we'll stop giving loads of cash away to countries who dislike us.
