An old buddy of mine did that with his 09 BMW 335D. His grandfather bought it for him on his 18th birthday and totaled it that night on I10. Probably driving like this maniac.

If he had insurance on his trade-in he is covered and has 30 days to update and put it on there. Also, companies like GEICO have CS depts that work wknds so the dealer probably forced him to get it updated and have them fax/email it to the dealer directly.
