The original Truth BBQ began in Brenham, not Houston. The Brenham location is the quintessential TX BBQ joint.
The Texas BBQ revival hit Houston a little over a decade ago. It's a big place. BBQ is a tough go so there are probably some examples of failed ventures.
But I'm not aware of any top-shelf joints around here closing. Which ones are you thinking of?

Truth In Brenham lets you call ahead and walk past all the potatoes in line.
I like how OP is pissed he showed up at 2pm and they were out of stuff. Can someone point him to the nearest Luther’s or I guess Dickey’s now days?
