Those were the days.
Bottle rocket war. Friend on top of a gravity diesel tank.
Hit him in his pants pocket, which was where he had his stash of bottle rockets, which all caught fire.
At the moment it was hilarious to see him jump down and run with sparks flying.
Reality hit when we had to bring him to the ER with 2nd & 3rd degree burns.

We had a dirt jump, kids came from other neighborhoods to fly down the hill and catch air.
One kid named Harry was from across the tracks and we didn’t care for him much, so when he showed up one of my buddies distracted him while I loosened the nuts on his front wheel.
Ole Harry took flight and his front tire flew off, the two forks drove in the ground and Harry busted his arse.
Seems like he chipped his front tooth and ran off squalling for his mother.

Nice seeing kids doing kids stuff - my hat’s off to them and the support from the Dad !

Grew up in one neighborhood with a patch of woods with a pipeline running down it that led to another neighborhood. We had trails running all though the woods with bike ramps and rope swings. We had a park with a merry go round that would spin at what seemed like 2453 RPMs. Good times.

The city built a boulevard to connect two neighborhoods. Had piles of field dirt about 10 yards apart, 3-5 feet high on a downhill. The chicks dig big air baby.

Doing things like that helps kids learn how to deal with stressful situations and to overcome fear. Not to mention the confidence that comes from being the first guy to clear the whole obstacle and stick the landing.

Doubt it. Everything is relative. It’s the annoying helicopter man Ms who don’t let their kid have any fun. They’re turning their kids into candy assed pansies. A few of my friends wives who are like that. Completely disgusts me. I would have kicked them out a king time ago.

How many times have you heard “Hey look it’s [insert your name]!! Let’s kick his arse!”?

In the 80s, we made ramps all the time. My older brother broke both collarbones when the ramp snapped and he hit the two tires that the top of the ramp were set on. He was trying to clear 5 old tires set out in a row. He was thrown over the handlebars and came down about halfway through.
I once hit a ramp bad after about a 40 yard downhill approach and lost control through the landing and instead of the seat, I came down and racked by arse and nuts on the frame. That one sucked.

We made a pole vault pit with an old mattress and the rest including the pole was bamboo we cut out of the neighbors yard. Bamboo doesn’t have a lot of flex before it snaps. I have a big toe that makes a left turn because of that inability to flex.
