***Update*** the second person involved was not involved LEO saying it appears that this was a boyfriend/girlfriend runaway scheme where the male was supposed to take her (she was in the choir section upstairs) at gunpoint (staged kidnapping) and they were going to runaway together.

Well my daughter is many years removed from the school and church there (lives elsewhere now) and is freaked out they if this can happen where she grew up in little old Abbeville, that it can happen anywhere.

My parents are with me this weekend helping to build our nursery for our daughter. They have been getting updates from the Sheriffs office from in-laws. Surreal this can happen in such a small community we grew up in. Proud of those old Baws that stepped up and disarmed this child.

It’s so very surreal. We’re actually in perdido but will be at mass in Abbeville tomorrow afternoon. Will be weird knowing what happened.
