The person who made it inside of the church was a sophomore at the school and was armed with an AR-15 with a fully loaded magazine. When he made entry through the front of the church, a woman who is part of the school, confronted him, which disrupted his plan and he ran outdoors. Three men who were coming in with their children, apprehended him. A VC senior, who went along with the sophomore, fled the scene in a vehicle and was apprehended a short time later. These are the facts.

My parish pays for an armed detail at every mass as well.
Having said that, I'm not relying on a lone out-of-shape and underpaid off-duty cop to get it done in a bad situation, so I make sure I'm carrying something other than a missal and rosary, if you know what I mean.

But honestly it sounds like pure luck. The kid could have mowed down the lady and those men with ease and continued on. He just luckily wasn’t committed

Also I don’t care how old these kids are and how they didn’t go through with it. They should be executed immediately. They were willing to try and kill children. End their lives now. You can’t change them. They will never be safe for the public

He walked into the church and went directly into one of the cry rooms in the back. I think he was going to prep in there and then come out, but the church was standing room only and there was a woman with her 2 kids in the cry room. I think it threw him off. He only stayed in there like 10 seconds and then walked out of the church. Someone locked the doors behind him when he left.
