More seriously, the US would be unrecognizable to our ancestors, it had changed so much by the 1860s that we fought a war over the issue.

The South did not want war. The South had delegates in DC trying to negotiate the South's portion of financial obligations and purchase of Federal land in CSA territory. Lincoln would not have any of it.
Learn some real history, not the crap from the MSM or government run training centers, aka public schools.

I admitted to not knowing why I should care what two random schools in Virginia are called. You also don’t know. But you care a whole lot because your culture in another state depends on these schools being named after dead generals?
